Sports Illustrated had a contest on there Facebook page where there users were given around 20 different cover shots to choose from and which one ever ended up with the most votes would end up the winner and would be the cover of Sports Illustrated’s special edition “Pictures of the Year Best Moment of 2011 Fan’s Choice” magazine. The winner ended up being football player Eric LeGrand then a junior defensive tackle who collided with a kick returner during a game in which caused two fractured vertebrae’s and spinal cord damage. Eric is now paralyzed from the neck down.
SI.com – “And the surfing community saw a chance to get Slater, who won his 11th world surfing title this year, his first SI cover. Slater also found love from the music world, with both Pearl Jam and Ben Harper tweeting on his behalf.”
Kelly coming in 4th place
All right so Kelly lost that one. Well here is some other “vote for Kelly” thing. If you go here Kelly is going up against snowboarder Shaun White, bmx’er Steve McCann and skateboarder Ryan Shecler for the Hall of Game Sports Award Show on the Cartoon Network.
We hope Kelly wins, but going up against teenage heart throb Ryan Sheckler might be a tough one
