The Pole Cam

Most surf photographers never use pole cam water housings. The pole cam was mastered by surfing photographers Aaron Loyd and Tony Roberts. Aaron used a pole cam around 3-4ft in length and Tony used some poles up to 8ft. A pole cam housing works pretty similar to a pistol grip. The pole cam pictured below was made by Dale Kobetich where the trigger is near the bottom of the pole. The average pistol grip is around 6inches in length and the average pole cam varies from 2ft and longer.
