Quiksilver Board Short On Mulligan Man
We have just received the latest issue of San Diego Westways from AAA. On page 56 there is an article on these 25ft plus fiberglass statues. The first one was built in 1962 and was a 20ft tall Paul Bunyan made for the PB Cafe on Route 66 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Now 50 years later we have Quiksilver placing there Cypher Brigg boardshort (Dane Reynolds model) onto “The Mulligan Man” also known as “The Guy” for part of there summer marketing campaign. The Mulligan man is located on the outskirts of the Dominguez Hills Golf course in Carson along the 405 freeway.

Sprint Cellular With Surfer Doing An Air In There Window Display
Well we must admit this window display of a digital cartoon character (we can’t tell, is this is real or not?) type looking surfer sure got our attention. Frontside grab air with no water in the face, great shot! Sign reads; Master of motion. The tablet that delivers breathtaking media. htc EVO View 4G. Only from Sprint. Get Unlimited. Text. Surf. Download. Yes, we do want this phone as we are still using the Rant. Sprint hook us up over here we need a major upgrade and we surf!
No, it’s no Dane Reynolds by any means, but they are marketing to the surf/beach demographics. Works for us.

Nixon Billboard With Skater Rick McCrank
The boys and girls at Nixon have done it again. Wow, what a cool billboard was our first thoughts when driving up the coast this morning as we we’re doing our morning surf check (Carlsbad is the biggest/6ft+). At first glance it looks like surfer/musician Donavon Frankenreiter. Donavon sure in the heck could not skate like this. Did Nixon photoshop Donavon’s face onto this body, no way! This is pro skater Rick McCrank doing some one foot ride up a vert part of a half pipe. So as Nixon says WELCOME TO ENCINITAS and enjoy your labor day weekend!
About Rick McCrank told by Nixon: This raw street skater continues to hold the highest street score ever recorded (99.67) in a contest (Grand Prix, 2000), but he only competes in select competitions, preferring to spend his time filming, and can be found in a variety of skate videos dating back to 1999.
