Dane Reynolds Quits The ASP Surfing World Tour

Does this mean Dane Reynolds has officially thrown in the towel (his signature towel of course)? Dane now not showing up for his 3rd ASP contest with their 3 strikes and your out rule. Will this mean are California hero has now been “removed” from the tour? (No show at the Billabong-Jbay South Africa, Billabong-Tahiti and now Rip Curl-Portugal). Here is the men’s round 1 heat draws with no Dane Reynolds: Round 1

Update: Dane Reynolds will have to pay $25,000.00 to the ASP if he wants to surf another event as that is the penalty for missing the Rip Curl Portugal. If are math is right that is a little less then what Dane makes in 2 days, so we don’t think Dane would be sweating that much money. Would this be considered a tax right off? Full story here: here

Anthony Ruffos Story Runs In The New York Times

We know Anthony and his attorney have postponed a few court dates keeping Anthony out in the public (and in Bali this pass summer) where he has changed his life in hopes this will help his case when the sentence for prison time (if any) is handed down. There has been many mixed and angry emotions towards Anthony in the Santa Cruz area. During Anthony’s movie premiere there we’re street picketers picketing his movie called “Ruffo” which was produced by Rocky Romano. Many of the picketers who are sober say Anthony is giving a bad rap for people such as themselves who are truly sober. If Anthony is going to claim sobriety that means quitting everything including alcohol. New York Times story here

Anthony Ruffo always one with the ladies here at his home surfing spot Steamer Lane, Santa Cruz.

Anthony not only went big when it came to partying, but also in the surf. Here Anthony tow surfing into a Mavericks bomb.
