You may ask yourself how do I know what the editors want for their surf mag’s? To give you an example we received this email today from one of the editors of a very large surf mag.

“I’m sure you all know, but there’s something nasty brewing in the Southern Ocean and it looks like the day of the year is again coming to the South Pacific.

If anyone is onto it, please send through the shots. We’re working on the Tropical Islands issue, and this is the sort of fodder that makes me rigid.

Let’s get ‘er done.”

Surf House – Four Surfers Living Together On Reality Show

Remember the show ‘The Real World’ “when people stop being polite…and start getting real.” Then in 2002 came Boarding House with Sunny Garcia, Damien Hobgood, Myles Padaca, Danny Fuller, Holly Beck, Veronica Kay, and Chelsea Georgeson.

Now eleven years later since the last failed surfing reality show comes a new series called Surf House which is shot on Hawaii’s North Shore on Network A.

About: Mitch Crews, Michael Dunphy, Alisha Gonsalves and Bree Kleintop—four pro surfers living together on the North Shore of Oahu during the prime winter surf season. The entire surf industry including the pros migrate to the North Shore every winter to compete on surfing’s biggest stages including the Reef Hawaiian Pro, the Vans World Cup Of Surfing, and the Billabong Pipe Masters. In this episode, the crew move into their new home and look ahead to a season of epic surf, competition, parties, and yeah…some drama. P.O.V meaning Point Of View. We didn’t make it up nor did we know who came up with the term P.O.V (which we think is pretty lame). You know the awkward shots you see plastered everywhere of the surfer riding a wave. Guy’s like Kelly Slater have jumped on the band wagon only because GoPro is paying him a lot of $,$$$,$$$ now his peers like Shane Dorian are claiming themselves “photographers”.

I feel like all the best surf imagery I’ve seen lately have come from surfers like you. Please discuss. – Elliot Struck from Stab magazine (what a kiss ass question to start an interview)

Source Interlink who own Surfer and Surfing magazine have just bought Transworld Surf. With a shared office in San Clemente by ER and ING, Transworld will stay in their current location in Carlsbad. We have also heard Chris Cote editor-in-chief of Transworld Surf has stepped down from his current role and has given the reigns to Casey Koteen.
