Carissa Moore And Dusty Payne Win Margaret River
DRUG AWARE MARGARET RIVER PRO
WOMEN’S FINAL RESULTS: Carissa Moore (HAW) 11.00 def. Tyler Wright (AUS) 6.94
“I’m feeling really, really amazing right now!” said Moore. “I’m stoked to walk away with the win and to be up on the podium again. I didn’t win an event last year, and it was hard for me, but it definitely fired me up. It’s only been two events and it’s already looking like it will be a close ASP Women’s World Title race, but there are girls who didn’t make it to the final day who are capable of causing upsets and winning events. It will be really interesting to see how it all pans out.”

MEN’S FINAL: Dusty Payne (HAW) 16.36 def. Josh Kerr (AUS) 13.20
“I’ve never won anything before, this is sick!” Payne said. “This is my first major win and this is an awesome event. I’m so glad to win in Western Australia, I love it over here! I was in good rhythm at the event, which never happens, lucky I guess. I’m just so stoked right now. I was injured for half of last year and had to sit on the sidelines and watch my friends surf and win events, and now here I am. It feels great.”

Slater Surfs The Lane 18 Years Later
Kelly made his showing this morning at The Lane as he hasn’t surfed here in over 18 years. We are guessing he hasn’t missed it!

Adriano DeSouza
Darryl “Flea” Virostko (we asked Flea, “so what has Kelly have to say?” “That last wave he took he said that was his best wave he has ever had here”. “Do you want a shot of you and him together?” “It’s alright, I already got my shot of him next to me getting 2nd place to my 1st at Mavericks.” That is Flea’s claim to fame as he reminded us of him beating Kelly 3 times in one day at the Mav’s comp.)

We have just began uploading photos of Kalani David and Dusty Payne onto there pages.
This was the first time we had met and photographed Kalani David. Many people don’t know, but he is actually a really good skateboarder as well (like pro status). Kalani at Lower Trestles with his surfboard shaped by Chris “Gally” Gallagher and his sponsor are RVCA clothing, Santa Cruz surfboards, Electric eyewear and Famous traction.

Lights, Camera, Action – Night Surfing At Seaside Reef By Nike
Last night it was like a rave at the beach. A band rocking out, girls dancing on the beach and lights in and out of the water. Add the smoke machines and some great surfing action and we have a night surf session brought to you by Nike. There were some underwater lights that would illuminate the ocean much like you would see a swimming pool at night. This area is where the water photographers were hanging out and almost getting ran over. Then there was one main spot light that was about 50ft in the air planted in a cherry picker crane. Last there were about three littler spot lights on the beach.
Surfers that made into the water were Dusty Payne, Kai Barger, Koa Smith, Noah Beschen, Austin Ware, Taylor Clark, Jeremy Sherwin, Granger Larsen, and more.
