No Agenda – A Film About Surfing

No Agenda – A Quiksilver Film Featuring Everyone

No Agenda is not about selling boardshorts. It’s not about the latest marketing advertisements and campaigns. It’s not about champagne, leather couches and expensive boat trips. It’s all about beach traffic, bottom turns, sun burns, cold beer, ding repair, dirty wax, flat spells, f#!king kooks, getting burned, local legends, lost luggage, magic boards, nut rash, lofty punts, onshore wind, perfect barrels, sandy hair and sharing waves. It’s good, it’s bad, it’s surfing. This movie has No Agenda.

Quiksilver Board Short On Mulligan Man

We have just received the latest issue of San Diego Westways from AAA. On page 56 there is an article on these 25ft plus fiberglass statues. The first one was built in 1962 and was a 20ft tall Paul Bunyan made for the PB Cafe on Route 66 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Now 50 years later we have Quiksilver placing there Cypher Brigg boardshort (Dane Reynolds model) onto “The Mulligan Man” also known as “The Guy” for part of there summer marketing campaign. The Mulligan man is located on the outskirts of the Dominguez Hills Golf course in Carson along the 405 freeway.

Quiksilver New York 2012 WCT Cancelled

Quiksilver and the ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) today announced that the Quiksilver Pro New York will not return to the East Coast of the United States as a stop on the 2012 ASP World Title Series. The 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York marked the 6th of 11 events on the elite ASP World Title Series.

“The 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York event was a huge success for the surfers and fans with great conditions and incredible support from New Yorkers.” says Rob Colby, President of Quiksilver Americas. “Quiksilver is still very much committed to the ASP and the professional surfing tour in 2012 with the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast (Australia) and the Quiksilver Pro France.”

“It is unfortunate that we announce the cancellation of the 2012 Quiksilver Pro New York,” Dave Prodan, ASP International spokesman, said. “The 2011 installment was a fantastic event with excellent waves, tremendous local support and some of the best surfing we enjoyed all season. That said, we understand the factors leading to Quiksilver’s withdrawal of the New York event from the 2012 schedule. We appreciate Quiksilver’s continued support of the world’s best surfers with the Australian and European elite level events in 2012.”

Quiksilver Eddie Aikau Contest Site Goes Live

The opening ceremony for the Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau was held at Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu on December 1, 2011.

The Opening Ceremony is a time when surfing embraces the Hawaiian culture from which it was born. Big Island Kahu Billy Mitchell, personal advisor to the Aikau Family, offers a blessing and rich insight for the surfers and organizers. He reminds them of whose footsteps they follow in and the role and responsibility they now have in carrying forth both the spirit of Aikau, and the ultimate brotherhood of big wave riders.

Waimea Bay has been the Mecca for big wave riders for more than 60 years, and the Eddie Opening Ceremony is a time to reflect upon big wave surfing’s ancestry.
