Magazine ‘The Surfers Path’ Closes It’s Doors

Email we received today:
Apologies for the group email but please be assured – it’s a select group!

All of you have contributed in different ways to The Surfer’s Path magazine and I want to let you know how much I have valued your collaboration, input and support over the years.

TSP’s 100th issue is about to hit the shelves and although I consider that something to celebrate, it comes with the sad news that The Surfer’s Path will be shutting down with immediate effect.

Some time during the production of the issue, Factory Media managers informed me of their decision to discontinue the title as soon as TSP100 is published on December 27th.

The news is no great surprise. Several years ago I began urging Factory to either invest in the title or shut it down because an editorial staff of one, with an ever-shrinking budget, is not a sustainable approach. So, here we are.

Anyhow, I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know the news, and to thank you for your support over these last 17 years/100 issues. It has been an enormous honour and a real pleasure to work with you and I wish you all the best for 2014 and beyond.

I’ll be unemployed as of tomorrow and though I have some projects on the go, I’m hungry for freelance/full-time/ultra-high paying work any time you have any.

In the meantime, I wish you all well and many, many thanks for the good stuff we were able to do together.

Go well!
Alex Dick-Read
