Kodak Enters The Digital World

“…you were a Kodak moment once and by God you’ll be one again only this time it’s digital!” (video created in 2006 was shared at internal employee meetings and events with shareholders and investors)

Eventually competition started using the digital technology. The photographic film sales started going down and declining and the company stopped earning a profit in 2007 and had to file bankruptcy.

PIXSY – For Photographers

PIXSY is an online software platform that identifies unlicensed image use on the Internet. We work on behalf of photographers to resolve cases of unauthorised image use in a fair and friendly manner.

PIXSY only requests license fees for commercial, institutional and certain organisational uses. We calculate the proper license fee, contact the user, and work to make things right. In situations where users don’t reimburse the photographer, we provide assistance in pursuing legal action.

Photographers Need To Change Their Ways To Stay In Business

5 Business Mistakes Photographers Make and What You Can Do About Them By – PhotoVenture

1. Photographers fail because… they take the same pictures as everyone else (land photographers)

2. Photographers fail because… they don’t maximize photo opportunities (get a different or unique angle)

3. Photographers fail because… they don’t have a business plan (showing up to the beach shooting Kelly Slater will not make you $ – unless you we’re hired to shoot him)

4. Photographers fail because… they don’t charge enough (Those who don’t charge don’t care to make $ – they are just happy to see their shots being used)

5. Photographers fail because… they don’t get social media marketing spot on (Robbie Crawford (former body boarder) who shoots empty waves at The Wedge using only a GoPro has 280,580 followers and Hawaiian photographer Brian Bielmann has 17,981 followers – Robbie obviously doing something right)
